HF 381 directed that the Iowa Health Information Network “shall be administered and governed by a designated entity selected by the department through a competitive process.” IDPH has been engaged in this process for the last six months, and I am pleased to inform you that the Department has issued a Notice of Intended Selection of a Designated Entity.
Hielix and Koble Group (“The Hielix Team”)worked together to prepare a response to the RFP that the team and I feel presents the best option for moving the IHIN out of a state government led model of governance to a private, non-profit model of governance. The Hielix Team will be working to create a new, non-profit organization in Iowa to serve as the Iowa Health Information Network. The Department will work to provide as smooth of a transition as possible.
